Friday night, May 3, from 6:30 to 9:30, World Records will host a mix of music, art, food, drink, and community.

This show will feature the artwork of two fine local artists — Amy Richardson and Kelly Wonderly —  gracing the walls of the World Records Theater. The Patrick O’Connell Trio, featuring Paul Perez on sax, and Mike Bhone on upright bass will perform. Hors d’oeuvres stations will be sprinkled around the theater, including slices of our wood oven pizza. Our regular selection of draft and bottled beer and wine, as well as many choices of non-alcoholic drinks, will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $20, and can be purchased at World Records or from the many volunteers who are circulating in the community. All proceeds will go to The Mission. read more…

Bakersfield natives, Hate Drugs, have been together long enough to release a couple EPs (mini-albums) while also foraying out to perform around California.
They are now ready to release a full-length album on CD and will celebrate with a show at World Records on December 30.
Elk Grove, Wee Beasties, and Almnc will also perform.
Tickets are $10 in advance, and $15 the night of the show.
It is requested that each attendee bring two cans of food so after a great show, a big load of food will be delivered to the food bank.
