Eric Marienthal – Saxophonist started his professional career in 1980 with famed New Orleans trumpeter Al Hirt. After returning to Los Angeles, Eric became a member of the Chick Corea Elektric Band. He recorded six albums with that band and two of them won Grammy Awards. Six of the songs that Marienthal has recorded have made it to the top 10 of the National Contemporary Jazz Radio Charts and two have made it to No. 1.
His Oasis album hit the top 5 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Chart. Shortly after that, he was voted one of the year’s “Favorite Alto Sax Players” in Jazziz magazine’s Readers’ Poll. Marienthal has also written instructional books, including Comprehensive Jazz Studies & Exercises, The Ultimate Jazz Play Along, and The Music of Eric Marienthal and instructional videos, including Play Sax From Day One, Modern Sax and Tricks of the Trade.
Lao Tizer – Keyboardist is one of today’s rising stars of the world-fusion genre. Tizer’s original music has spurred comparisons of a modern twist to the 1970s and early 1980s heyday of jazz fusion, when trailblazing ensembles like Return To Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra and Weather Report set the aesthetic standard.
Lao’s music has a multi-genre, multi-national appeal and his group, The Lao Tizer Band, has toured the USA and the world while being nominated “Jazz Group of the Year”! Their new 2018 CD/DVD combo release, Songs From The Swinghouse has received acclaim across the industry while debuting near the top of the Billboard Jazz Album Chart!
Anthony Crawford is a notable up and coming bassist and music composer inspiring generations to come with his unprecedented, eclectic musical talents.
Musically, Anthony has been greatly influenced by rock bands and bassists like Doug Wimbish, Les Claypool, Doug Pinnick, Metallica, Deep Purple, and Ozzy Osbourne. But the turning point surrounding his musical influences was when he recalls, “I got ‘A Show Of Hands’ by Victor Wooten. That record completely changed my life. I must have learned that whole entire record from beginning to end. That record made me really explore my talent in ways I never thought possible.” It was after this musical experience that he began listening to other great bass players like Stanly Clark, Marcus Miller and Jaco to name a few.
Anthony has been actively performing with notable artists such as Erykah Badu, Peabo Bryson, Jeff Lorber, Dave Weckl, Everette Harp, Frank McComb, gospel legend Andrae Crouch, Karen Briggs, Virgil Donati, guitar legend Allan Holdsworth, Eric Marienthal and has released his solo CD titled, “Urban Jazz”.
Gene Coye – As a child Gene taught himself to play drums. Throughout his youth he was mentored by gospel drumming great Terry Banks. By the time he was a teen, Gene was playing in numerous community choirs and jazz ensembles spanning from Chicago to NY.
Gene received his BFA in jazz at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), where he studied under famed jazz legend Joe Labarbara. While in college Gene toured with Carlos Santana and his son Salvador. Upon graduating, he quickly established himself as one of the most sought after drummers in Los Angeles.
Of late, Gene has been nominated twice for a Grammy with the John Daversa big band, and has been recording, touring and performing in Europe and the US with SEAL, Larry Carlton, Mike Landau, Robben Ford, Stanley Clarke, Terrence Blanchard, Pharoah Sanders, Tom Scott, Bennie Maupin, John Beasly’s Monkestra, Thundercat, Flying Lotus, Cody Chestnut, DJ Khalil, Big Krit, Rick Ross, Mali Music, Nai Palm (Hiatus Kaiyote)… all in addition to recording and producing his own band The Endangered and numerous other high profile artists from LA to NY.
