Rhonda Vincent has moved back and forth between the kindred fields of bluegrass and country music. Rhonda remains a cult icon with a vocal style to die for. With her acclaimed band, Rhonda Vincent & the Rage, she is one of the top touring and recording bluegrass acts in America. What makes Rhonda stand out is she has her own style of bluegrass with a hint of classic country, topped off by a healthy dose of reckless abandon … that said, this latest album is indelibly invested in the basics of bluegrass, with a distinctive contemporary edge.
I Ain’t Been Nowhere
This video – I Ain’t Been Nowhere – It’s very cleverly done and the late Geoff Mack, the Australian who wrote and first recorded the original, might well be smiling down with approval.
A record which is wholly new and yet immediately classic, MUSIC IS WHAT I SEE is an album sure to thrill existing Rhonda Vincent fans and bring new devotees to the fold. In a word, awesome!
With a vintage country-bluegrass voice that beautifully captures both the toughest and most tender aspects of love gone wrong, singer Rhonda Vincent’s single and video, “Like I Could,” painfully charts the disintegration of a seemingly once-perfect relationship. Co-written by Grand Ole Opry legend Jeannie Seely with Bobby Tomberlin (Diamond Rio’s “One More Day”) and Erin Enderlin (Alan Jackson’s “Monday Morning Church”), “Like I Could” is accompanied by a music video starring Vincent, her award-winning band the Rage, and a character played by the musician’s real-life husband and manager Herb Sandker.
Like I Could
“I feel that many people will relate to this song and its tremendous heartbreak and sadness. My hope is that there are people who hear this song, namely those in the midst of the devastation of a breakup, who will reconnect and renew their love with each other. It has a very desperate message, asking, ‘What happened, I thought you could see us together forever?’ Maybe this is the perfect song and question they need to hear to bring them back together.” – Rhonda Vincent
