Virtuoso slide guitarist and Grammy nominated songwriter/producer and recording artist Roy Rogers remains defiantly upbeat on his 12th solo album Into the Wild Blue.

Into the Wild Blue wails, squawks, stomps and boogies with authenticity — ready for the open road and the live stage. Years of working with the likes of John Lee Hooker, Bonnie Raitt, Carlos Santana, Sammy Hagar and Steve Miller has given him a pop musicality.

“Those Bygone Days” is a new song by Roy Rogers that invokes that nostalgic mood we find ourselves in throughout life.
Think this natural imagery captured that feeling well, and hope you enjoy the video.

Roy Rogers – Those Bygone Days

Rogers still continues to also perform with his long-time band, The Delta Rhythm Kings.

“I’m the guy that always likes to push the envelope,” Rogers says, at home in Northern California. “We have always covered a lot of ground with other artists that I have had synergy with our musical tastes, and my band has been with me for many years – we just sync so well. I’ve been very fortunate through the years to collaborate with many gifted musicians that I admire and consider longtime friends.”

Born in Redding in 1950 and named after Hollywood’s King of the Cowboys, Rogers grew up in the Bay Area of California and started playing guitar at the age of 12 and became entranced by the recordings of the blues, especially Robert Johnson at age 15. By age 13 he was playing in a local R & B band and quickly became a young blues fanatic hitting the San Francisco’s ‘60s club scene. When Hooker asked him to go on tour in 1982, it changed his life becoming John’s friend, musical director, biz manager on the road and eventually his producer for 4 Grammy albums of note “The Healer”, which won a Grammy for both Hooker & Raitt, as well as the releases of “Mr. Lucky”; Boom Boom & Chill Out. In addition, producing releases for folk legend Ramblin’ Jack Elliott Rogers “Friends of Mine” and “The Long Ride” for Elliott which also garnered Grammy nominations.

“Rogers is one of the best slide guitarists on the planet.”
– New Orleans Times-Picayune/The Advocate

“Rogers turns in performances that are searing, soulful, and spiritual by turns …”
– Washington Post

“Sounds the way good bourbon tastes, smooth and with a kick.”
– Spin

“One of the rare guitar heroes who values feeling over flash.”
– Rolling Stone

Decades of artistic collaborations, recording & performing to audiences is a passion & a gift. Roy Rogers continues to be an inspired, seasoned performer, producer & player who is known to bring audiences to their feet across the globe.

T BEAR – Richard T. Bear

Pianist shares memories, stories of his own career as a solo artist and songwriter. Visibility equates with viability, T. Bear defies the odds. After initially attracting attention with a pair of albums released in the late ’70s on RCA, he chose to go under the radar and subsequently abandoned the idea of making music entirely. Now, nearly 35 years later, he’s reemerged with a new album, ‘The Way Of The World’, was written and recorded as the world emerged from the pandemic. Produced by long-time Grammy-winning collaborators drummer Tony Braunagel and guitarist Laurence Juber, the horn-driven excursions of ‘Fresh Bear Tracks’ were stripped-down to a small group sound, recording mostly in home studio environments. Augmenting this core trio was a selection of bass players, including the legendary Reggie McBride, Hutch Hutchinson (Bonnie Raitt) and John Mayall-alumnus Ricky Cortez.

Taking his cues from the likes of Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Bob Dylan, Odetta, Fred Neil, and Sandy Bull for sure. Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady discovered him playing piano in the store, and, suitably impressed, asked him to sit in with them. After serving a stint as Carly Simon’s road manager, he took off for London where he had opportunity to open for Jeff Beck, Richie Havens and Odetta. He began co-writing material with Squier, backing Kiss members Gene Simmons and Peter Criss on their respective solo albums, contributing to Toby Beau’s hit single “My Angel Baby,” and writing and co-writing songs for Cher. In addition, he toured with Stephen Stills, played on the Crosby, Stills and Nash song “Southern Cross,” and opened for Dave Mason, Mick Fleetwood and the Doobie Brothers, among others.

T Bear has been around in so many ways, but especially this:
“I was on the board of directors for a thing called the Musicians Picnic. I used to get all kinds of people. I was playing with Mick Fleetwood and got him to come, then I got Clapton to come and talk and play, and Chicago, and a bunch of people. We had that thing going for almost 25 years. It was a nonprofit organization that would put musicians who had no insurance into detox and then into a sober living environment. Before there was MusiCares, there was MAP — Musicians Assistance Program. I was at the start of MAP with a guy named Buddy Arnold. I got sober and Buddy invited me over to his house and we started the musicians meetings. There were like 12 of us — Paul Butterfield, Ray Sharkey, an actor, Dick Forest. A lot of those people died — there’s only a few of us left. I remember saying to Sean, “I’m doing this thing called the Musicians Picnic. Maybe you come out?” And he never did it. I was really involved and invested in getting musicians sober. I think I stepped down the 21st or 22nd year, because I had enough (laughs). But that’s kind of my legacy.”

T Bear has appeared at World Records several times, also T BEAR ALL-STARS.
